Find the Country from a Point: Balkans Quiz
Identify which country in this set contains each point placed on the map.
Small borders, similar neighbors
The Balkans pack a lot of countries into southeastern Europe. The shapes are small enough that knowing the rough region is rarely enough.
Croatia is recognizable. Keeping Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia in the right order is the harder part.
Neighbor order matters here
The Balkans make neighbor order matter. Recognizing the country names by themselves will not place them on this map.
How the point map quiz works
A point appears somewhere on the map. Type the country that actually contains it. The round keeps going through all 12 countries.
Point mode works best on a map you already know pretty well. It exposes fuzzy boundaries quickly.
Tip: Points near borders are the nasty ones. Check which side of the border the dot is really on.
A few kilometers on screen can matter
The middle of the peninsula is full of short borders and similarly sized neighbors. Regional definitions also vary, so Smurdy uses one fixed country list.
