Points can land almost anywhere

World mixes every region into one round. A huge mainland country can be followed by a tiny island on the next question, so there is no single part of the map to settle into.

A point in Canada is one thing; a point near the edge of Rwanda, Belgium, or El Salvador is another.

Why World feels different

A continent quiz lets you keep one mental map loaded. World keeps replacing it. A country that feels obvious in a Europe-only round can take an extra second when the previous question was in the Pacific.

How the point map quiz works

A point appears somewhere on the map. Type the country that actually contains it. The round keeps going through all 200 countries.

Point mode works best on a map you already know pretty well. It exposes fuzzy boundaries quickly.

Tip: Points near borders are the nasty ones. Check which side of the border the dot is really on.

What the point exposes

This is good at exposing fuzzy boundaries. Knowing the general area is not much help when the point lands near an edge.

The hard part is the constant jump in scale. Europe can get crowded, and the Caribbean or Pacific can force a lot of zooming.
