Type the Countries: West Africa Map Quiz
Practice the names and locations of West Africa by typing the highlighted countries.
A compact coast with a wide Sahel
West Africa has a crowded Atlantic coast and a broad inland Sahel. Nigeria and Ghana are familiar to many players, but several smaller coastal countries sit right beside them.
Ghana is a useful coastal landmark. Farther west, several small countries sit almost on top of one another at normal zoom.
How the typing map quiz works
One country is highlighted. Type its name and move on to the next one. You get the location as a clue, but the name has to come from memory.
Typing is useful once the shapes feel familiar but some of the names still lag behind.
Tip: If you recognize the shape but the name is slow, say the name out loud or in your head before typing.
The coastal sequence gets crowded
The coastline is where most close misses happen. Inland, the large shapes can also blend together.
