Type the Countries: Europe Map Quiz
Practice the names and locations of Europe by typing the highlighted countries.
Lots of countries in very little space
Europe puts a lot of countries into a small map. The big peninsulas are easy to orient around, but the middle of the continent gets crowded fast.
Portugal is hard to confuse. Luxembourg and Slovenia are a different story, and the microstates can disappear at normal zoom.
Where the map gets crowded
Western and central Europe pack several small countries into very little screen space. Zooming helps. Knowing which neighbors belong around them helps more.
How the typing map quiz works
One country is highlighted. Type its name and move on to the next one. You get the location as a clue, but the name has to come from memory.
Typing is useful once the shapes feel familiar but some of the names still lag behind.
Tip: If you recognize the shape but the name is slow, say the name out loud or in your head before typing.
Central Europe is the bottleneck
Central Europe and the Balkans are where a rough guess stops working. Several small countries sit only a short distance apart.
