The Horn, the lakes and the coast

East Africa in Smurdy includes the Horn, the Great Lakes area, the Indian Ocean coast and nearby islands. The coast has several memorable shapes, while the inland countries are more compact.

Somalia gives the Horn a shape you can recognize immediately. The countries around the Great Lakes take more careful neighbor memory.

How the point map quiz works

A point appears somewhere on the map. Type the country that actually contains it. The round keeps going through all 17 countries.

Point mode works best on a map you already know pretty well. It exposes fuzzy boundaries quickly.

Tip: Points near borders are the nasty ones. Check which side of the border the dot is really on.
